Continuity in partnerships with Lidl, Immoweb and Ethias

Business  12/02/2025

As of 2025, Immoweb and Lidl will be partners for the race package Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Ronde van Limburg, Brussels Cycling Classic and Amstel Gold Race. Flanders Classics confirms that Ethias will continue as Main Partner for the forthcoming edition of Ronde van Limburg.

From 2025 onwards, Lidl will not only be partner for the Flanders Classics spring classics. With a partnership for the Ronde van Limburg, Amstel Gold Race and Brussels Cycling Classic, the collaboration between the two parties is now significantly expanded. Thanks to a constructive commercial collaboration, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne is also part of the partnership.

Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics: “This announcement highlights the importance we place on continuity and lasting collaborations. Together with our partners, we want to write a beautiful story and that is exactly what we will be doing with this expanded collaboration with Lidl. Our longstanding spring partnership has provided the perfect groundwork for us to embark on the next chapter together. This is a confirmation of the mutual trust that we share and we are eagerly anticipating this new step in our enduring partnership.”

Hendrik Van Wilderode, CCO of Lidl Belgium & Luxemburg: "We are happy with this expanded collaboration because the past has proven that our visions align well and that we strengthen each other. As a Belgian fresh food discounter, we recognize the importance of healthy food and exercise for the health of our customers. Sport plays an important part in our long-term commitment to promoting an active lifestyle and health."

Immoweb extends collaboration beyond the European Championships

As of 2025, Immoweb will become one of the Main Partners of that same race package. The partnership with the real estate website stems from the successful European Championships.

“The 2024 UEC Road European Championships marked our first collaboration with Immoweb,” says Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics. We came out of that project with a very strong mutual understanding, which led to discussions about this expanded Main Partner package. We are delighted that we are able to give the European Championships this kind of follow-up. The European Championships were a single event and we are very pleased now to have Immoweb join us in our annual operations. Our aim is to build a lasting partnership similar to those we have with our other partners.”

Piet Derriks, Managing Director of Immoweb, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “After a first successful experience with the European Cycling Championships, it was an obvious choice to continue the adventure with Flanders Classics. This partnership is fully in line with our ambition to strengthen our local presence and support events that resonate with the public. We look forward to contributing to this great dynamic and supporting these races.”

Ethias extends for Ronde van Limburg

Flanders Classics and Ethias have been working together for several years, both on the road and in cyclo-cross. The extension of the collaboration for the Ronde van Limburg, following the successful 2024 UEC Road European Championships, emphases the mutual trust between both parties.

Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics: “We are delighted that we are able to continue our relationship. In recent years, we have built a solid partnership with Ethias that covers both the Ronde van Limburg and the Cyclo-cross World Cup. Furthermore, we worked together during the recent European Cycling Championships in Limburg. Extending this to the upcoming edition of the Ronde van Limburg underlines how well the visions of Ethias and Flanders Classics are aligned.”

“We are proud of our collaboration with Flanders Classics and the extension of our partnership for the Ronde van Limburg,” says Peter Maris, Head of Brand Activation at Ethias. “After cooperating successfully on the European Cycling Championships in Limburg, it makes sense for us to continue this sporting story together. The Ronde van Limburg is a race with a rich tradition and the power to bring people together, just like sport in general brings people together. As an insurer, we are committed to encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle, and cycling plays an important role in this. That’s why we are so enthusiastic to remain a partner in this marvellous event.”
